9 years!

Today was my 9th year anniversary. Time flies by when your having fun! David took the afternoon off and we headed to Big Splash with Brandon and Serena. It was so much fun. We love Big Splash because there is something for everyone. The older kids loved riding down the slides, and Jenna loved the kiddie pool. Taylor was just going down the one slide that he went down last year, but I convinced him to go on a tube with me. He reluctantly did so, he loved it and that fueled his fire! He decided to go on the next scariest slide and loved it. Next, the 50-foot drop! He went up and without hesitation went down. It was hilarious! All the kids went up and down a million times, it was great. Jenna loved the kiddie pool. She was a little angel all day. I don't think she cried once. And Ethan was his normal crazy self. I think he went down the most slides because he NEVER GETS TIRED!!!
After Big Splash we went to the Texas Roadhouse for dinner, yummy! We had a great day.
Since it is my anniversary, I will write a little about my husband-even though he will hate it. Here are just a few things about David:
  • He works very hard, and still makes time for his family. When he gets home from work I know he is tired, but he still plays with the kids.
  • He is really funny. He still makes me laugh everyday, and he will laugh at my dumbness!
  • He has cute kids:)
  • He hates to be alone, so he calls me a lot during the day and he gets his feelings hurt if I seem busy or rushed when he calls.
  • He loves me, or the kids, to ride on the tractor with him
  • He will discipline the kids when they need it, but also knows when they need loved instead
  • He knows when to "let me be"
  • He loves to go on walks and rides together
  • He can fix anything, and will do house and yard projects
  • He is not overly romantic- ok not really at all- but he shows me he loves me by the little things he does.
  • He will help around the house, with the kids, or with whatever I need.
  • He helped me deal with losing my Dad and my sister Twana, he was so strong and I needed this.

I love being married. You never need to look for entertainment. We are happy just being at home with the kids. Every year just keeps getting better! Alright enough with the sappy stuff. I am not a sappy person so I am surprised I could come up with this. I love you David, Happy Anniversary--9 long years...(ha,ha)

David's find

Last week, David was farming and he found this little baby bunny so he brought it home for the kids. Taylor absolutely loved it! I went on a run that night and Taylor lost the bunny-IN OUR HOUSE. I could just imagine somebody coming to look at our house and a bunny

running out. I was not happy. That night David went to get a drink of water and the bunny ran right by our bedroom door, so we went on a hunt. It took all four of us to catch that thing. We put it in a large tote and covered it with a blanket. The next morning David was going to take it back to the farm, but it had jumped out of the tote! So then again...bunny on the run. Well we caught it again, and this time I won, it went outside. Then Taylor lost it again, so it is gone now.

Swimming in the sink

When I was refinishing our bathtub Jenna had to bathe in the sink. She loved it! I sat her in their one morning and leaned over for my camera. In that split second she flipped on her belly and reached into the other sink to help herself to the silverware. Thank goodness they were clean just waiting to go in the dishwasher. It was pretty funny. She was very proud of herself.

Jenna at 7 months

Jenna had her 6th month checkup today. She will be 7 months old on the 25th however. Her first appointment got canceled and they rescheduled her a little late, but that is always fine with me. So Miss Jenna at 7 months is:
15 pounds 2 oz
25 1/4 in long
She is in the 25th percentile for both height and weight

She did really well with her shots, she cried only for a second. As soon as I picked her up she let a big sigh and was done. She instantly broke into a big smile for the nurses it was sweet. Jenna is now sitting up, crawling, starting to eat some finger foods, eating baby food 3 times a day, drinking apple juice from a cup, and still nursing. It seems like I am constantly feeding her something. She enjoys playing on the floor with her car toy, watching cartoons with her brothers, going for walks (as long as she is in her carseat facing me), playing on the grass, and snuggling with her Mommy and Daddy. She still wakes up early and happy. We so enjoy our little princess and are so glad we have her.

We love our baby!

It's Official

Our house is officially for sale. The Realtor is coming to take pictures tomorrow so by Monday afternoon it should be on their website. We are really excited but also very nervous. I hope people will like it enough to buy it. I have been so busy with the little projects I saved for the last. Note to self: I WILL NEVER START A PROJECT WITHOUT COMPLETELY FINISHING ONE. We had lots of "little" jobs like touch-up painting, scraping paint off of windows... I hate doing that kind of stuff. I never want to paint again. Well that is all for now. I got to finish painting. I will post pictures when I have a second. Until next time....wish us luck!

Quick Update

We have decided to sell our house. We have been working really hard to finish some last minute projects. Thanks to the rain, David has been able to take a few days off to help. In the past week we have: had 15 yards of decorative rock hauled in, put slate around the fireplace, painted doors, shampooed carpets, touched up the paint, finished trim work, done hours of yard work, and have cleaned, cleaned, and cleaned! I am so thankful for a husband that knows how to do everything. It is amazing how much faster things get done with his help. We will have our house listed by Thursday. Hopefully it will sell fast. It will really be hard to live in the house and try to keep it clean for prospective buyers.
We are hoping to build north of Byron. I have a house plan picked out, I just need to take it to some builders to see if it is in our price range. Hopefully, it is.
So we are really excited about selling and the kids are too, but Ethan says it is kind of sad too. He said, "This is the only house we've ever known." This is true. David and I bought our house when I was 18 and he was 19. Crazy huh! So that is just a quick update. Wish us luck!

Crawling Jenna

Well the easy times are over. Jenna finally figured out how to crawl forward. She officially started crawling yesterday--June 4th (for journaling purposes). She has been trying for a while, and finally got it down. She is a lot happier now except that I keep on taking her toys away so she will crawl to them. I got a video of her showing her anger to me. This was the third time I pulled her away from the bag of wipes she wanted. My camera wasn't behaving so I needed her to do it again. She didn't like that idea. I thought it was funny.Watch her face when she is almost there it is hilarious.

Got Dirt???

On Sunday, we went in the hills South of Lovell to explore. We set out in the afternoon after church. But first David had to check on the sprinkler. This is what he saw:

As you can see this is not normal. The tire is stuck, and the whole sprinkler could tip over which would be catastrophic. So David drove the loader up to the sprinkler and pulled it out. It was pretty exciting. After the initial excitement, we got on our way. We found some cool rocks to climb. We had a fun day. We call these outings "Adventure Walks". The boys are funny because they think that I just love rocks, and so they pick up a ton of beautiful rocks for their mom. It was really fun.
